The RGCA has maintains a open sea cage farm at Muttom, Kanyakumari-District, Tamil Nadu since 2011.

Major Objectives

To culture hatchery produced cobia and other commercially important Marine finfish in open sea cage

Standardized marine cage farming and technology transfer to the entrepreneurs

Providing Hands-on training programme to promote marine cage aquaculture

Achievements

109.6 MT of Cobia, 4.84 MT of Pompano, 3.66 MT of Seabass and 76 kg of Tiger grouper fishes were harvested from Cage farm Project since inception.
